The school, which lies 25 kilometers north west of Durban and forms part of the KwaZulu-Natal Tourism Route, is the leading independent black boarding school for girls in Southern Africa.

The sprawling picturesque campus on about 20 acres of land comprises 14 main buildings including 3 hostels and a chapel. There are 16 classrooms, 2 laboratories, 1 computer centres and 3 halls. The Board House, Stanwood Cottage, offers bed and breakfast facilities for 8 people.

There are 3 tennis courts, 3 netball courts and a sports field. The Student Centre is the home for karate, aerobics, the tuckshop and much of the on-campus weekend entertainment.

The property is secured by an electric fence and evening guards. The school archives are housed in Lucy Lindley building.

One of the most exciting capital projects of 2008 has been to see Edwards Hall rise from the dust of her strong foundations into the beautiful restored building standing at our entrance.  This building destroyed by fire in 1993 was previously a hostel and classrooms but now houses 2 classrooms, a media centre and an audio visual hall equipped with the latest technology and also able to be used for drama and debating. The foyer and veranda make a stunning venue for future old girls reunions and functions.
