DUX Winner & Runner up 2011

“A feeling of absolute joy and gratitude! When it was announced that I had been the DUX of 2011, my heart somehow skipped a beat. I was not quiet sure if I should cry or shout in proud exclamation. It really showed me that hard work truly does pay off. It reminded me gat my persistence and determination had played a vita role in my achievement. Words really can not express how I truly feel about receiving such sought after title. I must however admit that it has humbled me as it highlighted that it was not only my hard work that paid off, but also of my educators, friends and family and above all, the work of God who gives me strength everyday.”

DUX Winner 2011

It is true that “you reap what you sow”. My aim for this year has been to work hard and achieve excellent results but also tackle everyday challenges that come my way without fear….but being the Runner –up to DUX wasn’t part of my goals. The morning before the At home, I felt so anxious because I was clueless on what awaited for me that day. As I was called for each award I could feel the exhilaration and anxiety taking over me. However, a different feeling aroused as I received the Runner –up to DUX award because this is when I felt tears on my eyes as I reflected back on the people who have played an enormous role in molding me into becoming the person I am today….but most especially God.

I feel so delighted and honoured to be the runner- up to DUX 2011. This experience has really taught me that “Success is not a spontaneous reaction but you have to set yourself on fire first in order to succeed.”
