The pass rate is not necessarily a good indication of the academic success of a school, neither is the number of As. Failures and multiple-A-achieving students are the exceptions at the bottom and top of a school grade. It is more relevant to consider the number of Bachelors passes and the number of subjects where students achieved a C or higher mark. These are an indication of the academic development of all the students. Given that many Inanda students arrive in Grade 8, 9 or 10 lacking foundational skills in subjects such as Maths, English and isiZulu, these results are very pleasing.
