Vuyo is a socio-economic development champion, an accountant by profession who ventured into the entrepreneurship development and support arena in 2007.
She started her career in retail banking and continued working in the financial services industry doing accounting work. She went back to banking working at corporate and business banking as an account manager for state-owned entities. She had a sting in the logistics sector playing a business development executive role. In 2007 she founded and is Chief Executive Officer of Vumali Consulting. Vumali’s primary objective is to champion socio-economic development via crafting and implementing entrepreneur development strategies for corporates. The company has done work in the mining, renewable energy, state-owned entities, multinationals in the food and pharmaceutical sectors as well as the banking sector. Vumali also supports small and medium-sized companies to ensure they are ready to seize opportunities in the value chains of corporates.
Vuyo has travelled extensively in the rest of the continent, the United States and the United Kingdom comparing entrepreneur development models and collaborating for the development of local small businesses.
Vuyo is an active board member with experience in boards of a multinational, development agency and private companies. She is a part-time commissioner at the International Trade Administration Commission (ITAC). In 2008 she applied via Startup grind Silicon Valley to start an East London Startup grind chapter to bolster the local small business ecosystem and showcase local small business owners to the world for general and funding opportunities exposure.
