I completed my matric at Inanda Seminary in 1988. I then pursued my BA LLB at the University of Cape Town until 1995. I was admitted as an attorney in 1998 and practised as such until 2001.

In 2002 I was appointed to the Bench as a Magistrate. In 2013 I was offered a scholarship to study in the USA and I completed my LLM at the University of New Hampshire School of Law in 2014. I returned in 2015 and continued in my position as a  Regional Magistrate.
