Cawe Mahlati

Adv. Cawe Mahlati is a Director of Seed Capital Fund, a venture/ private equity fund and president of CMI, a boutique legal and corporate financial advisory firm. She is a specialist intellectual property lawyer who has worked as an associate at IBM, White Plains, USA and Borden Inc in Columbus, Ohio, USA and M-Net in SouthAfrica. She was part of the team that rolled out GSM technology which has ushered in the 4th industrial revolution. As M-Net’s regulatory director she was part of the team that rolled out its broadcasting services in 42 African countries.
She is the former CEO of Gauteng Tourism Authority and was a member of the UNWTO Panel of TourismExperts. Adv. Mahlati’s was part of a five-member panel that advised President Mandela on the repeal and establishment of post-apartheid media laws.
