Phinda Magwaza

Phinda has been the fuel behind a number of very successful local and international brands. She has worked as a marketing and communication specialist for Absa, FNB, Gauteng Provincial Health Department and the City of Johannesburg. One of her key roles was as Marketing Manager- Youth and Music Brands at MTV Networks Africa (now Viacom International Media Networks Africa).
In 2013 she left MTV to try her hand at entrepreneurship and started a consulting agency called Posh Marketing Agency and has not looked back ever since.

She headed up a number of key projects for some of her clients in the Media industry in SA and the rest of Africa. Phinda aims to create opportunities for communities and individuals to connect and prosper. She values the true meaning of social entrepreneurship.

As passionate South African she believes in the richness of our diverse community and hopes to inspire young people to be ambitious about their contribution to this country’s growth and sustainability

Project Manager -Tshepo500k | Zanenza | Jan 2016 – Oct 2016
Tshepo 500k is the Gauteng Premier’s Youth Development Programme initiated by Zanenza Communication & PWC.

I Managed a team of 16 implementation officers and developed and managed a database of 47 000 unemployed youth in the Gauteng region and successfully placed over 15 000 in jobs during the 9month period.

My role was to advocate for supplier diversity to all relevant corporate members. I contributed to the sustainability of the organisation by ensuring sustainable growth of corporate membership, through recruitment and stakeholder management,

Marketing Manager | Viacom Networks Africa | April 2012 – August 2013
Development and execution of the all the annual Pan African IP events and integrated marketing campaigns. Negotiation and set up of key trade partnerships. Project Management of the Hunters marketing campaigns for the Youth & Music Channels (MTVBase, MTV and VH1).
